At the 2003 CES Show, Sony displayed the BDZ-S77 Blu-Ray Disc Recorder.  It is scheduled to go on sale in Japan this April, for a price of around $3800 (450,000 yen).  This will be the first optical disc recorder capable of recording HDTV signals.  Today, your only choice for HDTV recording is a Digital VHS recorder from JVC, for around $500.  Businessweek magazine reports that this recorder will also include an HDTV Broadcast tuner.
