bandwidth

Technically, bandwidth refers to the difference between the maximum and minimum frequency possible in a frequency modulated (FM) signal.  The greater the bandwidth, the greater the signal detail that is possible to transmit.  With digital signals or network connections, bandwidth refers to the maximum possible data transmission rate.
