DVD Burning Glossary buffer A
digital memory that stores data temporarily. DVD players read data from
the disc in advance of when the data is displayed as a video or heard as audio.
This data is sent to a buffer. The data is extracted from the buffer as
needed, one frame at a time. The buffer is needed because the video frames
are not stored in sequence, and because the frames are encoded in widely varying
sizes. |
